Tuesday, July 1, Road Ride, 5:30 pm, Marin Tuesday Night Ride, 25 miles/2 hours/pace 1-3/level B/hills B-C

THIS RIDE IS LEADERLESS. During the months of Daylight Savings time we will ride Paradise Loop every Tuesday night. Riders of all levels are welcome, although riders should know the route. Strong riders can zip around the full Loop. Leisurely riders can do as much or as little of the Loop as they want. Frequently the group goes out to dinner after the ride for some fun socializing. Rain cancels.


Start: Town Park, Corte Madera. Take Hwy 101, exit at Tamalpais Drive. Head west on Tamalpais Dr. for ½ mile. Turn right on Pixley and right into Town Park.

Wednesday, July 2, Road Ride, 5:30 pm, East Bay Evening Ride, approx. 20 miles/1.5-2 hours/pace, level, hills vary, to increase as season progresses

Thursday, July 3, Road Ride, 5:30 pm, Paradise Loop, 20 miles/2 hours/pace 2/level B/hills B


THIS RIDE IS LEADERLESS. Thursday evening ride around Paradise Loop. The route is the counter-clockwise version of the Corte Madera/Tiburon loop. Possible dinner after ride. Rain cancels. Threat of rain, call ride leader.


Start: Corte Madera Town Park. Take Hwy 101. Exit at Tamalpais Drive. Head west on Tamalpais Dr. for ½ mile. Turn right on Pixley and right into Town Park.

Friday, July 4, Road Ride, 10:00 am Prompt, Orinda/Danville Ramble, 35 miles/4 hours/pace 1/level A/hills A-B

This ride is as flat as we can get on a lazy route from Orinda to Danville, and possibly beyond, with minimum hills. We'll mostly follow bike trails, and have a snack stop in Danville before returning. This is an ideal ride for newcomers, beginners, and those who need to gently flex the knees. WE LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 10:00 - if you're late, look for maps on my car, a teal blue Honda Civic.


Start: Meet at the EAST side of the Orinda BART station. Take Hwy. 24 east through the Caldecot Tunnel. Take the Orinda/Moraga exit. At the exit, turn left, then make a quick right into the BART station parking lot. Helen Herzberg (510) 537-9109 hherzberg@earthlink.net

Saturday, July 5, Road Ride, 9:30 am PRONTO, East Bay Ride D’ Jour, 32-40 miles/level C/pace 2/hills D

Meet at 9:30 for a PROMPT start. Depending on the temperature, we’ll choose our ride. If it’s a mild day, we’ll ride Mt. Diablo to the ranger station, optional to the summit; if it’s a hot one, we’ll cut across Walnut Creek, toward Lafayette and Moraga and seek refuge in the Oakland Hills via Pinehurst. In any case, we’ll ride 32 for sure with options to 40, and both rides have steep hills.


Start: Meet at Heather Farms Park in Walnut Creek. From Highway 24 East/680 North, take Ygnacio Valley Rd. exit. Go about 2 miles east on Ygnacio Valley Rd,. past John Muir Hospital, then a left on San Carlos at Heather Farms Park and right into the first parking lot. If coming on 680 southbound into Walnut Creek, take the North Main Street exit bearing right, go one mile on North Main toward Walnut Creek, left (east) on Ygnacio Valley Rd, 1 mile to San Carlos, left and then into the parking lot on your right. Sunday, July 6, Road Ride, 9:00 am, SF Ferry Plaza/Tiburon/Larkspur, 32 or 42 miles/4 hours/level B/hills B

We'll start the ride at the SF Ferry Plaza, bike along the Embarcadero, through Fisherman's Wharf, Crissy Field, then over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and on to Tiburon for lunch, then on to Larkspur Landing (32 miles) and take that ferry or return to Tiburon to take that ferry (42 miles).

Saturday, July 12, Road Ride, 10:00 am, Novato Loop with Options, 35, 52 & 56 miles/3-4.5 hours/pace 2/level B/hills C

This Club favorite starts at the community park in Marinwood, just off Hwy 101 and Lucas Valley Rd. so it is convenient with plenty of parking. We'll ride from the park through the residential streets of Novato, past Stafford Lake and the Cheese Factory. At the intersection of Petaluma-Pt. Reyes Rd. and Nicasio Valley Rd. people will have an option. Those who want a shortish ride (35 miles) can turn left on Nicasio Valley Rd. and head back to the cars via Lucas Valley Rd. The eager beavers can continue down Petaluma-Pt. Reyes Rd. to Pt. Reyes Station and Olema Hill. From there they can return either by turning left at Platform Bridge Rd. or continuing straight on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. through Samuel P. Taylor Park to San Geronimo Golf Course and Nicasio Hill. Maps will be provided. We will stick together through Novato and regroup frequently. Once we hit Novato Blvd. everyone can ride at their pace. Slow riders will be dropped.


Start: Marinwood Community Center. From Hwy 101, take Lucas Valley/Smith Ranch Road exit. Left on Lucas Valley Rd. Take the second right on Miller Creek Rd after about 1 mile (first street is Las Gallinas Ave). Community Center is on the right about 100 yards from Lucas Valley Rd. Mary Myers (415) 388-6863.

Sunday, July 13, Road Ride, 10:00 am, Cotati – East and West, 43 miles/22-mile option/4 hours/multi-pace/level C/hills D (one D hill)

Join us for a beautiful ride around Cotati. Part 1 is east of Cotati, has the one hard hill, and is 22 miles. Lunch will be in La Plaza Park in Cotati. Bring your lunch or there's a deli nearby. Part 2 is west of Cotati, has rolling hills, and is 21 miles.


Start: Cotati Dog Park. From 101 take the W. Sierra Ave. exit. Head east and turn at the 4th right onto Valparaiso Ave. Go about 3 blocks and cross Old Redwood Hwy. We are training for our ride in New England but we want all of you to come ride with us. We are riding from our house in Santa Rosa to the Benzinger Winery in Glen Ellen and back. Only 2 major hills of 1/2-1mile! After the ride, a potluck party at our home. Please come!!!

Sunday, July 20, Road Ride, 10:00 am, Carneros-Napa Loop, 36 miles/3.5 hours/pace 2/level B/hills C

We’ll start at Moore’s Landing on the Napa River, and head over to the East side of Napa for our loop ride. This is a lovely ride with no real big hills. Given this area, however, there are options to add some hills and miles! There is a Deli mid-ride where we can stop for a snack or lunch, or we can return to have lunch at Moore’s Landing Café.


Start: Moore’s Landing, Napa River. From Marin: Take Hwy 37 to Hwy 121. Follow Hwy 121/12 east toward Napa. Turn right at Cuttings Wharf Rd. Follow Cuttings Wharf Rd. to where it ends at the Napa River. From the East Bay take Hwy. 29. Turn west onto Hwy 121/12. Turn left at Cuttings Wharf Rd. Sunday, July 27, Road Ride, 9:30 am, Benicia to the Jelly Belly Factory, 50 mile loop/4 hours/pace 2/level B/hills B/C

Let’s join Ginger at the waterfront in Benicia and work up an appetite for jelly beans on this 50 mile loop. It goes through the back roads of Fairfield and features rolling hills with one climb. Bring snacks or buy food at the factory, stock up on Sports Beans. Ride back goes through Mankas Corner and Green Valley.


Start: Meet at the waterfront park on 1st and B streets. From Hwy 80 take 780 to Benicia. Those coming from Vacaville can do the same or take 680 off of 80 to 780. From 780 take the E 2nd/Central Benicia exit. Turn left at end of off ramp. Right on Military and quick left on 1st. The parking lot is on the left at 1st and B streets by the waterfront park.
